Your privacy matters. Blue Horizon Detailing is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we use it. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
1. Who We Are
Blue Horizon Detailing is a mobile vehicle appearance specialist based in Rugby, Warwickshire. We provide premium car detailing, valeting, paint correction, ceramic coating, SMART repairs and alloy wheel refurbishment across Warwickshire and selected surrounding areas.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Blue Horizon Detailing is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data lawfully, transparently and securely.
If you have any questions about how we use your personal data, please contact us at bluehorizondetailing@gmail.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us when you make an enquiry, request a quote or book a service. This includes:
• Your name and contact details (telephone number and/or email address)
• Your address or location (so we can confirm we cover your area and plan the visit)
• Vehicle details — make, model, registration where provided — so we can provide an accurate quote
• Details of the service you are requesting
• Any additional information you choose to provide, including photographs of your vehicle
We do not collect sensitive personal data. We do not collect payment card details directly — any payment processing is handled through separate, secure methods.
We may also collect basic analytics data about visits to this website through standard web analytics tools. This data is anonymous and not linked to individual users.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
• To respond to your enquiry or request for a quote
• To provide you with information about our services that are relevant to your enquiry
• To schedule, confirm and deliver the service you have booked
• To send you a follow-up after your service to check you are satisfied
• To contact you about future bookings or service reminders if you have consented to this
• To comply with our legal and accounting obligations
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
• Contract performance: when processing is necessary to respond to your request for a quote or to deliver a service you have booked
• Legitimate interests: when we have a legitimate business interest in responding to enquiries, managing customer relationships and improving our services — where this does not override your rights
• Legal obligation: where we are required to retain certain data to comply with legal or tax obligations
• Consent: where you have explicitly consented to receiving marketing communications from us. You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:
• Enquiry data (for potential customers who did not proceed to a booking) is retained for up to 2 years from the date of the enquiry
• Customer data relating to completed bookings is retained for 7 years in accordance with HMRC record-keeping requirements for tax purposes
• Marketing consent records are retained until you withdraw consent
After the relevant retention period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
6. Third Parties & Data Processors
We use GoHighLevel as our customer relationship management (CRM) platform. When you submit an enquiry through our website form, your data is processed by GoHighLevel acting as our data processor. GoHighLevel processes data in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable data protection law.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third parties for their own marketing purposes.
In some circumstances we may be required to share your data with regulatory bodies, law enforcement or legal advisors — only to the extent required by law.
If we use other data processors in future, we will update this policy and ensure appropriate data processing agreements are in place.
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
• Right of access: you have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: you have the right to ask us to correct any inaccurate data we hold
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): in certain circumstances, you can ask us to delete your personal data
• Right to restriction: you can ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances
• Right to data portability: you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
• Right to object: you can object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances, including for direct marketing
• Rights in relation to automated decision-making: we do not use automated decision-making, so this right is not currently applicable
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the details below. We will respond within one calendar month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.
