Professional Ceramic Coating, Applied at Your Home From £250

Professional ceramic coatings, applied with proper preparation — at your home or workplace, anywhere in Warwickshire.

The Honest Explanation

What a Ceramic Coating Actually Is

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer — typically silica-based — that chemically bonds to your paintwork and cures into a hard, transparent layer. Once cured, it becomes the surface that takes the everyday punishment instead of your clear coat: UV exposure, bird droppings, road salts, tree sap and winter grime.

The result is paint that stays cleaner for longer, washes more easily, resists chemical etching and holds its gloss for years rather than the weeks a wax manages. Water beads and sheets off the hydrophobic surface, taking much of the dirt with it.

What it isn't: a force field. A coating won't stop stone chips or scratches, and it doesn't replace careful washing. We've written honestly about what coatings can and can't do in our guide, Ceramic Coatings: The Truth, and compared them with traditional waxes in Ceramic Coating vs Wax.

Preparation Is Everything

Why Professional Application Matters

A ceramic coating is only as good as the surface it bonds to. The coating itself takes an hour or two — the preparation is where the real work happens.

01

Full Decontamination

Iron fallout treatment, tar removal, snow foam and a safe hand wash, followed by clay bar where needed. The coating must bond to bare, clean paint — not to a layer of bonded contamination.

02

Machine Polish

A light machine polish refines the paint and removes oxidation and light marring, so the coating locks in a sharp, glossy surface — not dull or defected paint.

03

IPA Wipe-Down

Every panel is wiped with isopropyl alcohol to strip polish oils and residues. Skip this and the coating bonds to oils instead of paint — and fails early.

04

Controlled Application

The coating is applied panel by panel, levelled within its working window and inspected under lighting for high spots, then left to cure properly. Temperature, humidity and timing all matter.

Honest Durability

How Long Does a Ceramic Coating Last?

The honest answer: it depends on the product tier and how the car is cared for afterwards. Here's what to realistically expect.

Entry-Level Coatings

1–2 years

Lighter silica coatings give genuine hydrophobic performance and easier washing, but with a shorter service life. A sensible option for lease cars or shorter ownership.

Professional Ceramic Coating

Up to 5 years

Our standard professional-grade coating. Properly maintained with pH-neutral washing, it realistically delivers up to five years of protection.

The Caveat

Care matters

No coating survives automated car washes or harsh chemicals. Neglect the aftercare and even the best coating will underperform — we tell every customer this upfront.

Straight Talk

Is a Ceramic Coating Right for Your Car?

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it — good or bad. So the honest answer depends on your paint's condition.

A Good Fit

New or Recently Corrected Paint

If your car is new, nearly new, or has recently had paint correction, a standalone ceramic coating is excellent value — it preserves that condition for years and makes every wash easier. For brand-new vehicles, our New Car Protection Package pairs the coating with removal of dealer marring.

Correction First

Swirled or Tired Paint

If your paint carries heavy swirl marks or scratches, coating it would simply seal those defects in — permanently glossy swirls aren't what you're paying for. In that case the right route is machine correction first, then the coating. Our Refined Correction Package covers exactly this, and we'll always advise honestly on which your car needs.

FAQ

Ceramic Coating Questions, Answered Honestly

For a vehicle with paint in good condition, allow a full day — the decontamination, light polish, panel wipe and coating application can't be rushed, and the coating needs time to begin curing before the car is left. If your paint needs correction work first, it becomes a multi-day job and we'll give you a clear timeframe at the quoting stage.

Why Owners Trust Us

The Reassurance Comes Before the Result

Handing over a vehicle you care about takes a certain amount of trust. These are the things owners tell us mattered most before they booked.

One pair of hands

Every vehicle is worked on personally by Josh May. There is no rotating crew, no subcontracting and no trainee learning on your paintwork — the person who quotes the job is the person who carries it out.

Assessed before anything is touched

Paint is inspected, and where it matters, measured. Some vehicles need correcting; some genuinely do not. We would rather talk you out of work you do not need than sell it to you.

Prestige and specialist vehicles as routine

Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Lamborghini, Range Rover, AMG, classics and modern performance cars are regular work for us — alongside family cars, vans and everything in between.

Fully mobile, fully self-sufficient

We arrive with our own water supply and professional equipment. Your vehicle is never driven away, never left on someone else's premises and never handed to a third party.

Deliberately limited availability

Correction and coating work is booked in small numbers because it cannot be rushed. It means dates are finite — and that every vehicle on the calendar gets the full time it needs.

Work you can check

60+ five-star Google reviews, and a lifetime ownership guarantee on the workmanship behind every SMART repair we complete.

Worth Knowing

Ceramic Coating, Explained Honestly

What a coating actually does, what it does not do, and the part almost nobody is told — how to keep it working.

Why ceramic coatings matter

A ceramic coating forms a hard, chemically resistant, water-repellent layer bonded to the lacquer. The visible benefit is gloss and the way water sheets off. The real benefit is that contamination — brake dust, tree sap, road film, bird droppings — sits on the coating rather than etching into the paint, and releases with far less physical contact when you wash. Less contact means fewer swirls, which means the finish you paid to correct stays corrected. Every coating we apply comes with a full warranty and aftercare package.

Why maintaining a ceramic coating matters

A coating is a surface, and surfaces get dirty. Road film, traffic grime and hard-water deposits gradually sit on top of the coating and mask it — the water stops beading, and owners understandably assume the coating has failed when it is usually still there underneath. Correct maintenance washing with pH-neutral products, and a periodic decontamination to strip what has bonded on top, restores the behaviour. Harsh degreasers and traffic-film removers do the opposite: they shorten a coating's working life considerably. This is the single most common reason a coating underperforms.

Why paint protection film still benefits from a ceramic coating

PPF and ceramic coating solve different problems. Film is a physical barrier — it absorbs stone chips and abrasion that a coating cannot. But film is a surface in its own right: it can stain, it holds road film, and on some finishes it can yellow with UV exposure over time. A ceramic coating applied over the film gives it the same chemical resistance and easy-release cleaning that coated paint gets, keeps it looking clearer for longer, and makes maintenance washing gentler on the film edges. The two are complementary, not alternatives.
